Shay Mitchell is a Canadian model and actress who is also an entrepreneur. Her most well-known character is Emily Fields on the Freeform show Pretty Little Liars. Shay Lo was the name given to a Jennifer Lopez Mitchell admirer by her friends. While she was a little girl, her passion for the art of performing grew. She told her parents that she would like to make a living in performing arts. After exceling in dance and modeling, she wanted to try her hand at acting, and began acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell landed a few commercials. She also had guest roles on television programs. Her breakthrough came when she was asked to play in the role of Emily Fields. Fans and critics were awestruck by Mitchell's performance. She then went on to make a mark on the screen, by starring in films like Dreamland, Mother's Day and The Possession of Hannah Grace. She gained wider recognition due to her performance as a psychological thriller in You. Shay Mitchell's writing talents extend beyond acting.
